No GST number? You can still drive with CAN as a freelance driver. CAN lets unregistered drivers make up to $30,000 in CAN sales (before GST) over any four consecutive calendar quarters. We'll remind you at $24,000 and $27,000. At $30,000 you'll need to add your GST/HST number before taking new jobs, but jobs you've already accepted will still be finished and paid. CRA's rule counts your business sales from all sources, not just CAN, so you may need to register sooner. Register free with CRA (canada.ca). Carrier companies on CAN must be registered for GST/HST.
